Founded in the 17th century by
Hadrat Pir Muhammed Nureddin Al-Jerrahi (may his soul be sanctified), the Halveti-Jerrahi
Order of Dervishes is an Islamic Sufi path of Love: Worship
the Creator with Love and serve His Creation with Love.
The Halveti-Jerrahi Order of Dervishes is a cultural, educational, and social
relief organization with diverse professional, ethnic
and national backgrounds.
Besides the material connection, established by the fact that
Hadrat Pir Muhammed Nureddin Al-Jerrahi is a direct descendant
of Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings upon him) both from
his mother and father, the path he has founded is dedicated to
the teachings and traditions through an unbroken chain of
spiritual transmission that goes directly back to the Prophet
Muhammed (p.b.u.h).
The head dergah (sufi convention) of the Halveti-Jerrahi Dervishes is in Istanbul.
It has branches in most of the European Countries, Australia,
South Africa, South America and North America including Chicago.
The Branch of the
Halveti Jerrahi Order of Dervishes in Chicago conduct weekly
gatherings where the dervishes perform sufi remembrance
ceremony (zikrullah), practice sufi music, serve dinner, pray
together and listen to the discourse of Shaykh Ilhan Al-Jerrahi,
the sufi guide.
